A collection of short videos with RAF Engineer, Wg Cdr Gemma.

The Wg Cdr talks about her journey to becoming an RAF Engineer as well providing a series of four short snapshot videos of her experience of problem solving, teamwork and creativity in the engineering environment.

Ideal for use as part of a Careers activity or at a STEM event where you want to highlight how problem solving, teamwork and creativity are integral to the engineering task.

All About STEM, in conjunction with the RAF, have a created a series of 6 Space themed STEM Challenges. The Challenges can be completed separately or be delivered over a 6 week period as part of a STEM Club.

A simple background narrative explaining the origins of the Phonetic Alphabet, accompanied by a Phonetic Sheet and some challenge questions.

This activity, developed for RAF STEM by Raising Robots, consists of a series of 7 coding training sessions using LEGO Spike Prime or Mindstorm.  The sessions lead up to the challenge of designing a Robot that can complete a series of missions in support of Operation Hurricane Rescue. In the event you do not have access to LEGO kits the activity does also provide a digital option for virtual completion.The sessions can be delivered individually or as a series and can be accessed via the link below.

Operation Hurricane Rescue

A Cyber Comms and Intelligence based activity, utilising Cipher Wheels, that was developed in partnership with Hi-Impact. The activity is delivered using the Nearpod platform and can be used either as directed delivery on a virtual platform, F2F or student paced.

The activity is broken into 4 lessons that are used in a narrative format to take the student through a series of challenges. Students will learn how to map read, interrogate databases, encrypt/ decrypt and basic directional programming.

A Space Quiz and Users Guide to Space lesson developed by Gp Capt Cooksley for use by RAF SAs. This lesson presents a wide range of interesting and historical facts about Space that match some of the curriculum teaching areas and engages students in a fun and inventive way through use of a Quiz. Ideal for delivery in Primary settings and can be added to with personal context of Space, cyber and engineering comms experience.
